Measuring Spatial Accessibility of Healthcare Facilities in Marinduque, Philippines

Sustainable development goal (SDG) 3 promotes well-being and healthy lives for people of all ages. However, based on the literature, one main challenges to achieving SDG is inequality in access health care. In order support efforts local government province contribute achievement thru equitable care, this study measured spatial accessibility healthcare facilities Marinduque, Philippines. It used distance-based (i.e., travel-time) area-based enhanced two-step floating catchment analysis or E2SFCA) metrics. The distance from each facility different villages was established using QGIS Google Maps. traveled three (3) modes transportation: tricycle, jeepney, private vehicle. E2SFCA scores were calculated population groups: general population, women, children, elderly. Based results, island those areas inner portion lack physical facilities. Such a limitation apparent distance- Among group considered study, women showed lowest scores.
